Star Cement demonstrates commitment to excellence with international certification

In a ceremony held yesterday, Star Cement has been awarded the ISO 9001 QMS Certificate, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificate, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) 18001 Certificate. These certificates have been awarded in recognition of Star Cement’s commitment to business excellence.

Speaking about the important milestone achieved by the company, Mr TVS Chidambaram- Chief Operating Officer at Star Cement said, "We are very proud to have achieved three certifications simultaneously. This milestone emphasise our loyalty to Quality, Environment, Health, Safety and our responsibility to serve the customers more efficiently. I would like to thank the entire team for their remarkable efforts.”

The certificates were handed over to Mr.TVS Chidambaram by Ahmad Al Khatib, General Manager Assurance and Testing BSI MEA in the presence Mr. A.E. Rao VP (Technical) & Unit Head, Mr. Selvan C.- Gen. Manager (TS), Mr. SDK. Sankara Rao, Mgr (Elect) & M.R.(IMS) and other officials from Star Cement and BSI.

It took us almost 11 months to get the certification, as we wanted to make sure that we do everything excellent- long journey, but we took it as a challenge for improvement.” added Mr. A.E. Rao, VP (Technical) & Unit Head.

Ahmad Al Khatib, BSI Middle East and Africa, congratulated Star Cement on having achieved three of the most rigorous and demanding management system standards:
